英文摘要Achieving energy neutrality is an important driver for utilities to start investing in both carbon redirection and advanced digestion to enhance energy recovery, as well as in short-cut nitrogen removal technologies to minimize energy consumption. In this study we demonstrate a combination of short-cut nitrogen removal, controlled via AvN control, with a polishing step based on partial denitrification (NO3 - NO2 - ) and anammox (AnAOB), controlled by NO3 based COD dosing, to achieve low TIN effluent concentrations which are in compliance with Chesapeake Bay TMDLs. The results demonstrated a robust nitrate based COD dosing control which could able to efficiently monitor partial denitrification (PdN) and full denitrification (FdN) in desired zones. AvN control shown its ability to be adjusted to meet the extreme low effluent limit (< 3 mg TIN/L). And low g COD added/g TIN removed ratio of 1.1 was reported when AnAOB was presented.
