英文摘要	An increasing number of countries have pledged to eliminate fossil fuel from the transportation sector and the number is gradually increasing. As part of the ambitious target put forward by the EU, countries including Finland have set themselves their own target to reduce the carbon emission. Such effort further trickles down to the regional level as the South Savo region in Finland is looking for the feasibility of going carbon neutral. South Savo is a rural province in southeast Finland. The issue with rural areas such as South Savo is that population is scattered across the region and has a significantly higher use of farm and forest machinery as well as higher use of personal cars. However, the aging personal cars and significantly low number of trucks and public buses suggest that there is an opportunity of replacing them with low-carbon fuel. However, technical and economic difficulties is still a major hindrance for carbon neutral road transportation. ETA-Florence Renewable Energies.
