英文摘要	For the fi rst time the complex geocryological investigations have been fulfi lled on the northern coast of Olkhon Island, Lake Baikal, near the south border of permafrost. The island landscapes are very arid desertsteppes. The information on the contemporary cryogenic and postcryogenic phenomena has been obtained. The morphologic and morphometric characteristics of permafrost relief and the results of the automatic hourly geotemperature observations have been described. The influence of microlandscape conditions on the dynamics of permafrost in the stepp areas has been analyzed. Diff erent variants of the impact of the cryogenic factor on the slope processes have been considered.
