英文摘要 | The upper permafrost sequence of the third marine plain and the thermokarst-erosional valley near Lake Sokhonto in the Central Yamal Peninsula were studied in 2014-2015 for cryostratigraphy, radiocarbon ages, and peat botanical composition and properties. The upper section of the marine plain consists of the Sartan syncryogenic subaerial sediments with polygonal wedge ice af ected by thermokarst. The early Holocene epicryogenic sediments compose the steps of the valley with dif erent elevations. Thermokarst events of the first half of the Holocene optimum to the Present were determined from the lake deposits. The peatland plant diversity recorded in sediments of khasyrei (a former lake depression) provides evidence for paleoclimatic conditions and thermokarst pulses for the past 1400 years. |
